Bus Crash - Tennant Creek

Police

A 25-year-old man remains in a stable condition in hospital after he was struck by a bus in Tennant Creek early this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Bedwell said it appears the man was lying on Paterson Street, at around 2am when he was struck by the bus trapping him underneath.

“Due to the swift response of Fire and Rescue Service and ambulance members, the man was removed from under the bus a short time later.

“He was taken to Tennant Creek hospital to receive treatment for leg injuries and later transported to Alice Springs Hospital.”

Police have ruled out speed and alcohol as factors in the crash.

The 58-year-old male bus driver was uninjured.
