Katherine Detectives are currently investigating the death of a male in the Katherine township.

The body of a man was found beneath the high level bridge at approximately 9.30 am this morning.

“Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of this male,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims of the Northern Investigation Section.

“At this early stage in the investigation, it would be premature to suggest what has occurred. Any information from the public would be most helpful.

“We are calling upon anyone who may have seen anything or been in the vicinity of the grassed area beneath the bridge overnight and into this morning, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
