Northern Territory Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was located in a vehicle west of Alice Springs today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said Police were alerted to a vehicle located on a remote dirt track approximately 50km to the west of Alice Springs at around 7:30am this morning.

Police are working to positively identify the man, and until identification can be established and the man’s next of kin are notified, no further information will be forthcoming.

A file will be prepared for the Coroner.
