Members from the Tennant Creek Investigation Unit are investigating the alleged assault of a 63-year-old woman overnight.

Officer in Charge of Tennant Creek Police Station, Senior Sergeant Brendan O’Hara said an unknown male walked up to the gate of the woman’s residence at around 7:45pm.

“The alleged offender has demanded alcohol and money from the woman and when she refused, he has then allegedly assaulted her.

“The offender is described as being a man of Aboriginal appearance with a solid build with black hair and was wearing dark clothing.”
