Northern Territory Police are requesting public assistance after an 18 year-old woman was attacked this morning.

Watch Commander, Senior Sergeant Geoff Bahnert said the woman was walking in the park area at Muirhead this morning when she was grabbed from behind.

“The alleged offender has punched her to the face and attempted to drag her into nearby parkland.  She has struggled and managed to break free before running to a near by house for assistance.

Senior Sergeant Bahnert said the man is described as having an olive complexion, approximately 6ft tall with an athletic, solid build.

“He was wearing a black cap, a white V-necked T-shirt and white, black and green knee length cargo pants with no shoes.

“He was clean shaven and had a crew-cut hair style.

“Police are asking anyone who may have seen a man matching this description in the area around Muirhead, Lee Point Road or Lyons to please contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
