Strike Force Trident members have arrested three youths aged 15 and 16-years-old in relation to an assault and causing significant damage to a vehicle in Malak.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said two male youths unlawfully damaged a parked vehicle, using a fire extinguisher from the BP service Station at around 9:00pm on 31 December.
“When the 50-year-old male owner of the vehicle confronted the alleged offenders, it is alleged they continued damaging the vehicle and then assaulted the man.
“Police located and arrested a 16-year-old after a foot chase. He has been charged with criminal damage, interfere with motor vehicle, armed with an offensive weapon and drive disqualified.
“A 15-year-old female associated with the two male offenders was also arrested at Malak shops after she assaulted one Officer and spat at a second Officer.
“She has been charged with disorderly behaviour in a public place and assault Police (x2).
“Further investigations led to the arrest of the 15-year-old male who was charged with criminal damage, aggravated assault, interfere with motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and armed with an offensive weapon.”
They have been bailed to appear at a later date.
