Katherine Detectives continue to investigate an assault that occurred on the Victoria Highway Sunday morning.

Detective Acting Sergeant Anastacia Cutler said it is alleged a 51-year-old man was assaulted near a phone box adjacent to a pizza take away shop at around 4:45am, 4 August.

“He remains in a serious condition at Royal Darwin Hospital.

“The victim was driving a white Ford Falcon. It is believed that he drove the vehicle to the location prior to being discovered unconscious by nearby residents.

“Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have any information to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
