Police are calling on public assistance in relation an assault and stealing incident which occurred in Alice Springs last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley of the Southern Investigations Division said a 46-year-old pizza delivery man attended an address on Bloomfield Street at around 8:20pm when the incident occurred.

“It is believed that he was approached by approximately 12 youths who removed a number of pizzas from the vehicle and ran down the street,” Detective Senior Sergeant Malley said.

“The man gave chase and was struck to the back of the head with a bottle.

“Police investigations are ongoing and I urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 0000.”
