The 39-year-old male victim of an assault in Casuarina last Monday has died.

Detective Sergeant Karl Day from the Serious Crime Squad said the incident occurred on Monday 28 October.

“It is alleged the man was assaulted by two separate groups of three men, outside Woolworths car park at Casuarina Shopping Centre at around 5:45pm,” Detective Sergeant Day said.

“The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital and passed away on Sunday.

“Two males aged 16 and 18 were arrested and charged on Wednesday for the assault.

“Further investigations are ongoing to locate the other offenders.

“Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.”
