Police have seized more than 200 litres of alcohol during a targeted operation to disrupt the supply of alcohol and drugs into remote communities

Superintendent Daniel Bacon from the Arnhem & Western Division said Police conducted checks on vehicles on Daly River Road last Friday evening.

“Police issued 10 infringement notices and seized 30 litres of spirits, 84 litres of beer, 46 litres of Port, five litres of mixed spirits and five grams of cannabis.

The alcohol was destined for a number of alcohol protected areas including Peppimenarti, Palumpa, Wadeye and Daly River.
