Aggravated Robbery and Unlawful Entry Arrest - Greater Darwin

Police

Members from Strike Force Trident have arrested three female youths aged 12 and 14 in relation to a number of property related offences over the weekend. They have also been charged with aggravated robbery.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the youths unlawfully entered a residence in Nightcliff and allegedly stole alcohol and three vehicles, a Holden Cruze, a Holden Commodore and a Nissan Navara. This occurred on Friday night.

“It appears the youths drove two of the stolen vehicles to a service station at South Alligator and stole around $150 worth of petrol. The youths have also used the stolen vehicles to commit further offences.”

“Two of the youths allegedly approached two 12-year-old females in a park in Wulagi and allegedly assaulted them and stole and IPod and mobile phone.”

The two 12-year-old girls were charged and will appear in court on Tuesday 19 February. The 14-year-old girl is still in custody, assisting Police with enquiries.

Two of the stolen vehicles have been recovered by Police.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said, “Police are very concerned when young girls are running around at night committing these types of offences. It’s a shame the parents can’t or won’t control them, leaving their parental duties to the Police.”
