Aggravated Assaults - Public Assistance Sought - Darwin

Serious Crime Detectives are investigating two aggravated assaults that occurred in Darwin last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Annette Cooper said the first incident happened at the intersection of Trower Road and Angelo Street in Casuarina at around 8pm.

“Two 16-year-old males were walking along Trower Road when they were approached by a white LandCruiser, several males exited the vehicle and assaulted the two victims.

“The offenders then approached a 50-year-old man sitting in a vehicle near by and attempted to assault him through the car window before fleeing the scene.

“The second incident occurred at a licensed premises on Casuarina Drive in Rapid Creek at around 12:30am.

“Three men allegedly became aggressive as they left the premises and started a brawl with a number of other patrons.

“A 22-year-old man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital to receive treatment for head injuries, after being allegedly stuck to the head by the offender. He remains in a stable condition at Royal Darwin Hospital.”

Police believe the same offenders may be involved in both incidents.
