Aggravated Assault Charges – Darwin City

A 34-year-old female has been charged following a domestic related aggravated assault in Darwin City Sunday night.

Detective Sergeant Matt Allen from the Serious Crime Squad said the incident occurred at a hotel in the Central Business District at around 7pm.

“It appears the 34-year-old woman and her 38-year-old male partner had been consuming alcohol together when an argument ensued,” Detective Sergeant Allen said.

“As a result, the man was stabbed once to the chest. He received first aid from neighbours until St John Ambulance attended.

“He remains in the Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition.”

The woman was charged with recklessly endangering life, unlawfully causes serious harm, aggravated assault and armed with an offensive weapon.

She was granted bail to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on Friday 4 October 2013.
