On Sunday 5th May 2013 the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service will host its 10th Annual Firefighter Championship Competition.
Championship events are designed to challenge the basic skills required for Firefighters and prepare them for the coming fire season.
The day consists of seven events, including; a quick attack hose race, hose and hydrant boosting and target attacks.
The last event of the day is the ever popular bucket brigade event where six competitors pass buckets of water up a four meter ladder to fill a 200 litre barrel.
The defending champions, Jabiru, will be back to defend the title. Three new teams are joining the competition this year, Batchelor, Bathurst Island and Aviation Firefighters from Air Services Australia.
The programme starts around 9am and is expected to finish around 4pm and is to be held at the Fred's Pass Reserve.
There will be a jumping castle for the kids, and catering will be available.
Everyone is welcome to come along and cheer for their local Firefighters.
