Police have sent extra Officers to Yuendumu following a disturbance this morning.

Superintendent Peter Gordon said two people had been injured.

“A large group of people had gathered near the clinic and were visibly upset.  When Police tried to calm the situation they had rocks thrown at them.

“The reasons behind this latest outbreak of hostilities are not yet known and the extra Officers will allow investigations to begin.”

Supt Gordon said the injured were airlifted to Alice Springs.
