Youth charged with numerous offences – Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police arrested a 16-year-old male youth in relation to an unlawful entry which occurred in Araluen.

Detective Senior Sergeant Travis Wurst of the Southern Investigation Division said it is alleged between the hours of 8:00pm Friday and 1:00am Saturday the youth, with possible co offenders, entered a home on Bowman Close through an unsecured window.

“A number of items were stolen, including two mountain bikes, an iPad, an ipod touch, PlayStation 3 games and a quantity of alcohol,” Detective Senior Sergeant Wurst said.

“Police have located a majority of the stolen items, however a mountain bike, believed to be worth around $4,000 and described as a red ‘Giant’, remains outstanding. Police urge anyone who may have seen the bike, to contact them on 131 444.

“This is again a reminder for home owners to lock their homes, which includes windows as well as doors. Offenders aren’t picky and if they see an opportunity, they're more than likely to make the most of it.”

The youth has been charged with stealing and other offences and is to appear in the Alice Springs Court today.
