Wanted Man Darwin - Update #3

Police

Northern Territory Police will step up its public engagement campaign today in the search for wanted alleged murderer Jonathon Andrew Stenberg.

Mr Stenberg is wanted in NSW for questioning in relation to the death of a 54-year-old male at Broadwater, on the 21st of June 2012.

Police have concentrated resources on a 45 square kilometre area of Berry Springs, where intelligence suggests Mr Stenberg is hiding.

“Today Police will contact each telephone landline in the area in an effort to gather further information from residents, while also determining which properties aren’t occupied.” Said Crime Commander Richard Bryson.

“Police have spent days scouring the region and clearing properties. This is another way to cross reference and confirm the homes that have been left unattended during the school holiday period, while also reinforcing to residents the importance of reporting suspicious behaviour.”

“To date, Mr Stenberg continues to evade authorities.” Said Cmdr Bryson.

“While there is a high Police presence in the area, the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.”

“Mr Stenberg is considered armed and dangerous. He should not be approached.” Said Cmdr Bryson.
