Wanted Man Darwin

Police

Members from the Territory Response Group are currently searching for a man wanted by NSW Police in relation to a murder five days ago.

Commander Richard Bryson from the Crime Division said Jonathon Andrew Stenberg is a suspect in relation to the murder of a 54-year-old male at Broadwater, New South Wales on the 21 June 2012.

“He is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached if sighted, and for Police to be contacted immediately on triple zero (000),” said Commander Bryson.

“Police have located a vehicle believed to have been driven by the alleged offender.”

“Mr Stenberg is thought to be in possession of numerous firearms and is considered extremely dangerous.”

“Members of the public are advised Police road blocks have been set up in the vicinity of Cox Peninsula Road, Darwin River Road, Reedbeds Road and Kentish Road, Hopewell Road, Southport Road and Mira Road.”

“Members of the public are urged to not approach strangers and to stay indoors. While we do not wish to cause panic the public’s safety is our number one priority.
