Vehicle driven into house Darwin

Police

Detectives from the General Crimes Section are seeking assistance from the public after a vehicle was driven through a fence and into a house on Murrabibbi Street in Leanyer last night.

Detective Sergeant, Mark Malogorski said there were six people inside the house when a vehicle was driven through the gate at about 10:10 pm.

“The unknown male driver exited the vehicle and started to yell out to the occupants. It is alleged the male then went to the first level of the house and used a piece of aluminium frame to brace the sliding door shut.

“The male returned to the vehicle and proceeded to drive it into the main entrance of the house, causing significant damage. The vehicle was then reversed out and hit a parked vehicle in the driveway, pushing it into the carport wall.

“The vehicle was last seen travelling along Murrabibbi Street where is turned left onto Baroalba Street.

“The vehicle is described as being a White Toyota Hilux 4x4 diesel with thin tyres with a white canopy. We believe the vehicle would have sustained significant damage to the front of the vehicle,” said Detective Sergeant. Malogorski.

Police are calling on any witnesses who may have seen a similar vehicle being driven, towed or transported, that was bearing significant damage to the front. Any information could be of assistance including if anyone is aware of a person who normally drives such a vehicle that now has obvious front damage or is not being driven.

Police urge anyone that may have witnessed the incident or who may have further information in relation to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
