Police have apprehended both 22-year-old males that escaped the low security section of the Darwin Correctional Centre yesterday.

Detective Superintendent Richard Bryson of the Major Crime Division said the first of the two was located at around 2:30 pm this afternoon.

“Dominic Gurruwiwi was located near the Rapid Creek footbridge. At around 6:20 pm Michael Binsaris was located at a residence in Karama,” said Detective Superintendent Bryson.

“The two men are now in the custody of Police and will be charged with escape lawful custody.

“I would like to thank those involved for the swift apprehension of these men.”
