Update - Fatal Crash – Anmatjere

Police

A 50-year-old female, involved in a fatal rollover yesterday, was released this morning from the Alice Springs Hospital after being treated for minor injuries and shock.

Senior Constable Steven Langdon from the Southern Major Crash Investigation Unit said the rollover on the Plenty Highway, occurred at around 2.30pm.

“It appears the couple from Queensland were travelling in a Toyota Prado when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll several times before coming to rest two metres from the road,” Senior Constable Langdon said.

“The 51-year-old male passenger died at the scene.

“Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance members attended and conveyed the woman to hospital.

“At this stage it appears as though speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash, however the exact circumstances surrounding the rollover are continuing.”
