A 16-year-old youth will appear in court tomorrow in relation to the assault of two men in Nightcliff.
Superintendent James O’Brien said the youth is alleged to have struck a 43-year-old man to the back of the head during a large disturbance on Jacaranda Avenue at around 10:30pm Monday night.
“Police later established the youth had also allegedly been involved in an unlawful entry at a home on Kurrajong Crescent an hour later,” Superintendent O’Brien said.
“It was reported the youth, in the company of another male, entered the home armed with a shovel and assaulted the 36-year-old male resident. The offender was then chased from the area."
The youth was arrested yesterday and has been charged with:
Stealing
Assault
Cause serious harm
Unlawful entry at night
Attempted robbery.
The 43-year-old victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.
