Unlawful Entry is Thirsty Work - Katherine

Police

Three men have been arrested and charged in relation to a brazen break-in at a Katherine bottle shop.

About Midnight on Tuesday into Wednesday morning, the offenders smashed a hole in the roof of the Thirsty Camel Bottle Shop.

“Using a rope, one of the men was lowered into the premises. The trio then set about hauling $2300 worth of alcohol back through the hole in the roof.” Said Superintendent Brent Warren.

“Police were able to identify the offenders from surveillance footage and the subsequent investigation led Officers to locate two of the offenders in Katherine, while one had fled to Borroloola.”

“It was a particularly good result for Police, who were able to identify, locate and bring the offenders to justice in a timely manner.” Said Supt Warren.

The three have been charged with Criminal Damage, Unlawful Entry and Stealing.
