Unlawful Entry - Katherine

Police

Three youths have been arrested and charged in relation to the unlawful entry of a bottleshop in Katherine over the weekend.

Superintendent Gavin Kennedy said it is believed that two 16-year-old males and one 17-year-old male unlawfully entered the premises around 10pm on Saturday 28 July.

“The alleged offenders entered the building through the roof and proceeded to steal cigarettes and multiple bottles of alcohol before fleeing the scene,” Superintendent Kennedy said.

“At around 3.30am the following morning, it is alleged the male youths returned to the premises using the same entry point, stealing more alcohol and cigarettes.

“Police quickly identified the three alleged offenders on CCTV and made two arrests later that day. Katherine Police arrested a third male youth the following day.

“The male youths believed to have been involved are charged with aggravated unlawful entry and stealing.

“All three alleged offenders are known to Police and were on bail for similar property and violence related offences.”
