Police this afternoon arrested a second male in relation to a number of unlawful entries in Tennant Creek over the past two weeks.

The 21-year-old man was charged with unlawful entry and stealing a quantity of alcohol following a break in last week at the Tennant Creek Hotel.  He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court in Alice Springs on Friday.

The man’s arrest follows the remand of a second male, a 16-year-old, who was charged with unlawful entry (x2) and stealing (x2) a quantity of alcohol.

Police Constable Colin Jenkinson said the boy was charged after he also gained unlawful entry to the Tennant Creek Hotel and in relation to another break in at the Goldfields Hotel earlier this month.

“The arrest comes on the second day of Operation Cowboy, which is targeting property crime in Tennant Creek.

“Further charges of co-offenders are expected,” Constable Jenkinson said.

The boy was due to appear in court in Alice Springs today.
