Truck Crash - Barkly Hwy

Police

Two men will be flown to the Alice Springs Hospital, following a truck crash on the Barkly Highway this afternoon.

Police were alerted to the crash just after 2pm. Initial reports suggested two trucks had collided but this has since been deemed incorrect.

The rollover happened about 80 kilometres East of the Barkly Homestead.

“A 55-year-old man believed to be the driver of the truck is reportedly suffering neck pain and received a small laceration to his forehead.” Said Superintendent Craig Barrett.

“A 43-year-old passenger needed assistance to get out of the wreckage and is suffering a chest injury.”

Both men are currently being driven to the Barkly Homestead where they will be met by the RFDS and flown to Alice Springs Hospital.
