Three Arrested for Unlawful Entry - Alice Springs

Police

Quick work by Alice Springs Police early this morning saw three men arrested following a supermarket break and enter.

A passer-by alerted Police to persons inside the supermarket at around 5am. Police attended shortly after and the trio were arrested nearby. All were intoxicated.

Police Superintendent Travis Wurst said the men, aged 21, 27 and 22, were now in custody and would remain so until they sobered up.

Charges are expected to be laid later today in relation to the incident, in which a metal bar was used to force open a window security screen and several bottles of alcoholic spirits were stolen.

Superintendent Wurst said the arrests were the result of more good work for local officers.

“Everyone in Alice Springs wants a safe community to live in and Police are committed to reducing crime.

“Good work by Police, with the help of the public, allowed these arrests to be made quickly.”

Supt Wurst also praised members of the public for working cooperatively with Police to help crack down on crime.

“Thanks to members of the general public who, as I’ve said before, are our eyes and ears in the community. Your cooperation makes our job much easier.”
