Thieves Arrested - Marrara

Two thieves have been arrested following the unlawful entry and stealing from a licensed premises in Darwin’s northern suburbs this morning.

Acting Senior Sergeant Crispin Gargan said Police received a report from a member of the public at around 2:20am stating they had witnessed two men exiting the premises with a quantity of alcohol.

“It is believed the two alleged offenders, aged 22 and 36 years, gained entry to the building after breaking a window,” Acting Senior Sergeant Gargan said.

“Officers arrived at the scene a short time later and pursued the alleged offenders on foot as they attempted to flee into nearby bushland.

“Police chased down and apprehend the alleged offenders and recovered all of the stolen alcohol.

“In this instance, the witness was able to provide immediate details which assisted Police greatly in quickly locating and arresting the alleged offenders.

“The two alleged offenders remain in custody and are currently being questioned by Police.”
