Northern Territory Police have today issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in relation to an alleged assault on a pregnant woman.

37-year-old Jamie Schmidt is alleged to have struck a 20-year-old woman in the stomach with a glass bottle and punched her numerous times.

“During this altercation in Brinkin last Friday, it’s alleged Mr Schmidt assaulted her and threatened to kill the woman’s baby.” said Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Pollock.

“Mr Schmidt is described as a light-skinned African American, approximately 172 centimetres tall, 90 – 100 kilograms with shaved dark hair.”

“At this point in time he is evading Police and should not be approached.” Said Det Snr Sgt Pollock.
