Teen Escapee - Arrested - Tennant Creek

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy who escaped from the Tennant Creek Police Station yesterday.

A/Superintendent Craig Barrett of the Tennant Creek and Barkly Division said the teenager presented himself to Police at 10.15 this morning.

“As a result of liaison between Police and family members, the teenager was brought back to the station by his mother.”

“NT Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance, in particular the teenager’s family who took the boy back to the station,” said Superintendent Barrett.

The teenager has since been charged with escaping lawful custody and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Tuesday the 10th of April.
