NT Police charged a 16-year-old after he allegedly assaulted a Transit Security Officer during an incident at the Casuarina Bus Exchange.

Sergeant Crispin Gargan said the teenager was charged with two offences after the incident on Monday afternoon.

“Police allege that a Transit Officer had asked the boy, who was drinking alcohol, to leave the area however he became aggressive and attempted to throw a punch at the Officer,” Sergeant Gargan.

“Police yesterday charged the boy with resist a public officer and disorderly behaviour in a public place.”

He was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on 19 June.
