Detectives in Alice Springs are investigating the death of a 42 year-old female overnight.

Police were called to a unit in the Mokari Flats on Nicker Crescent at around 11.30 last night and on attending discovered the deceased person.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips confirmed Police are treating the death as suspicious.

“At this early stage we are piecing together information and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area around 11.30pm and who may have heard an argument or seen suspicious behaviour prior to or immediately after the incident.”

A crime scene has been established and a homicide investigation is underway.
