Stealing with Violence - Call for Witnesses - Casuarina

Police

A 17-year-old was assaulted and had his bike stolen in an incident which occurred on Rothdale Road, Casuarina, at around 3pm yesterday afternoon.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Board of the Serious Crime Squad said the teenager was riding his bicycle along Rothdale Road towards the intersection of Trower Road when a white coloured Toyota Camry sedan, containing three men, stopped in front of him.

“The driver is alleged to have left the vehicle and approached the teenager, demanding he hand over his bike,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Board said.

“He has then allegedly punched the victim to the face, knocking him to the ground. The man has then ridden off on the bicycle towards Casuarina.

“We believe the rear passenger has climbed into the driver’s seat and driven from the scene.

“The driver is described to be of Caucasian appearance, tall with a slim build and was wearing an orange work shirt. He also had blue work shorts and gators and a pink eyebrow piercing.

“One passenger was described as Asian in appearance, approximately 18 years old, wearing a grey shirt and black shorts.

“The second passenger, a Caucasian male had long brown hair and was wearing a white shirt, black shorts and had an eyebrow piercing.

“Police would like to speak to the man that stopped at the scene and assisted the teenager by driving him back to his home. The man was driving a white tow truck fitted with a crane along Rothdale Road. We believe this man may have witnessed the assault and could assist Detectives with the investigation.

“I also urge anyone else that may have witnessed the incident, to come forward and contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
