Stabbing - Durack

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad are requesting public assistance in relation to an aggravated assault in Durack.

At approximately 4.45pm on Friday August 10 an 18 year-old female was walking along a footpath on the edge of the lake near Woodlake Boulevard where a man has allegedly jumped out of the bushes and stabbed her two times to the abdomen.

Detective Jon Spencer said the victim was able to walk home and contact Police.

“She has been taken to RDH with lacerations to her lower abdomen and is in a stable condition.

“We would like to talk to anyone who may have been in the area of the lakes between Woodlake Boulevard and Kooyonga Parade in Durack between the hours of 3pm and 4pm yesterday.

“Any information they may have regardless of how insignificant they feel it may be would be of great assistance to Police.”

The offender is described as being Caucasian of medium build, 175 – 180 cm tall and wearing a light blue button up business shirt and black ¾ length dress shorts.

The offender was also wearing a black beanie with eye holes cut out at the time of the assault.
