Police

A 25-year-old man will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court this morning for allegedly stabbing a 29-year-old man.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said the incident occurred at around 5:20am on Saturday 24 November in Harriet Place, Darwin City.

"Serious Crime Squad detectives seized CCTV footage from nearby businesses and a taxi which led to identifying the 25-year-old alleged offender.

"This was an unprovoked and callous attack on a victim that was travelling home after a night on the town.

"I acknowledge the assistance provided by the private businesses in providing the CCTV to investigators.

Police will allege the victim was stabbed five times with an edged weapon. The victim was treated in hospital and later released.

The offender has been charged with recklessly endanger life and aggravated assault.
