Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad have arrested an 18-year-old man in relation to a stabbing incident that occurred in Darwin City overnight.

Police and Ambulance Officers attended Mitchell Street about half-past-one this morning, after reports a male person had suffered a stab wound to his ribs.

“Staff at an inner-city licensed premises called the Police and St Johns Ambulance when the man presented suffering the wound.” Said Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board from the Serious Crime Squad.

“The victim has undergone surgery and is currently in a serious but stable condition.”

“Investigations surrounding the incident are continuing.” Said Det Snr Sgt Board
