Stabbing Arrest - Alice Springs

A 41-year-old Alice Springs man has this afternoon been arrested in relation to a stabbing incident that left his partner requiring hospital treatment.

Police were called to Abbotts Camp just before midnight last night.

“Upon arrival Officers were directed to a 40-year-old woman suffering stab wounds.” Said Acting Senior Sergeant Dave Richardson.

“She had suffered wounds to her stomach and thigh but fortunately they weren’t life threatening.”

“A knife – believed to be the weapon used in the attack - was seized at the scene for forensic testing.” Said Act Snr Sgt Richardson.

“Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit worked throughout the night and today to track down the alleged offender.”

“He’s now in custody and will be interviewed in relation to the stabbing.”
