A 37 year-old female was medivaced to Alice Springs Hospital before being transferred to Adelaide Hospital following an incident in the Community of Yuendumu, north west of Alice Springs. Detective Acting Superintendent Travis Wurst said Police were called to the South Camp in the early hours of Saturday morning following reports of fighting.

“On arrival the Officers have found the female lying on the ground, unconscious.  She was transported to the local clinic where she was assessed.

“Clinic staff treated her for two possible broken legs and head injuries.”

Police have set up a crime scene in the area where the woman was found and investigations into the incident are continuing
