Officers from the Casuarina Tactical Team have arrested a 15-year-old boy in relation to the theft of more than seven-thousand-dollars worth of laptop computers.
Sanderson Middle School was broken into on March the 24th 2012, and six Dell laptops were stolen.
“A Forensic examination of the scene recovered a fingerprint which has now been matched to the alleged offender.” Said Constable Nadine Caulfield.
In a separate investigation, the youth has also been charged in relation to an unlawful entry at a house in Karama in April where a vehicle was stolen.
“Police will allege the boy was with a group of youths joyriding in the stolen car before it subsequently rolled and was then set alight by co-offenders.” Said Con Caulfield.
The 15-year-old has been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Entry, Stealing, Unlawfully Damaging Property and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.
He will appear in court on June the 26th.
