Reported Abduction - Stuart Park

NT Police are seeking assistance from the public to locate Monique Edmundson, a 25 year old female who is reported to have been taken against her will from a women’s shelter in Stuart Park, Darwin overnight.

Major Crime Commander, Richard Bryson said reports from witnesses suggest two males attended the women’s shelter armed with a firearm at approximately 10:45pm last night.

“The two males have forced entry and in the course of doing so, have discharged a firearm a number of times.

“After forcing entry, they have located Monique Edmundson who is understood to have been taken from the premises.

“Anyone who sees or knows the whereabouts of Monique Edmundson or has any information in relation to this reported abduction is urged to contact Police immediately on 131 444.

“Major Crime Taskforce Sandstorm has been established and has been conducting an extensive operation overnight.

“The Taskforce is seeking public assistance to locate a Mr Joshua Walsh who Police believe can assist with their enquiries.

“Mr Walsh may be armed and the public are asked not to approach him.” Commander Bryson said.
