Police Call for Break in Victims to Come Forward Palmerston

Police

Police are calling on anyone in Palmerston who last night had their home broken into or think someone may have attempted to break in to come forward.

Acting Sergeant Tanya Holliday from the Palmerston Tactical Team said there were nine attempted unlawful entries or actual unlawful entries, mainly in the suburb of Gunn overnight.

“We had three unlawful entries in Gunn, there were also a number of attempted unlawful entries,” Acting Sergeant Holliday said.

“There may be other properties affected but owners may not be aware – it might be as little as a screen door being ajar.

“Police would like to hear from you if you live in the suburb and think you may have been targeted last night.

“Check your homes and if you can see damage or evidence of entry contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.”

These incidents were another reminder for people to keep their valuables safe in their homes, Acting Sergeant Holliday said.

“Don’t leave your valuables at the door or on the kitchen table,” she said.

“When valuables are in easily accessible places it makes it an effortless move for offenders to sneak in, grab and run back out.”
