Operation Trident Targets the Wanted

Police

Northern Territory Police have launched Operation Trident, targeting recidivist offenders, property offenders, people accused of assaults and anti-social behaviour.

The Operation will be held across the three major centres of Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs for four weeks.

The Operation will also target those people who have had warrants issued by the courts for their arrest and remain outstanding.

“Stealing, unlawful entries and assaults affect the entire community directly or indirectly and it’s time those people who have not appeared in court and have warrants issued for their arrest are made accountable.” said Assistant Commissioner Peter Bravos.

“Police have drawn up a list of targets where records indicate people have failed to attend court.”

“Those people know who they are and I encourage them to present at their nearest Police station.”

“We will give people 48 hours to come forward and arrange to have their matter dealt with.” Said Assistant Commissioner Bravos.

“Following that, randomly selected names from the target list will be published on the NTPF Facebook page, with the list regularly updated for the duration of the Operation.

People who may have information in relation to alleged offenders who have failed to attend court and a warrant has been issued for their arrest, are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. You can remain anonymous if you wish and may be eligible for a reward.
