Operation Crossroads

Police

Three people were killed on Territory roads this Easter long weekend, bringing the road toll to nine compared to two at the same time last year.

Police conducted extensive traffic patrols across the Territory as part of Operation Crossroads.

“The Operation ran from Friday through to Monday.” Said Traffic and Specialist Services Commander Kate Vanderlaan.

“Unfortunately in that time, three people lost their lives.”

“Police enforce the law to keep people safe but motorists need to take responsibility for their own actions.”

“Again it appears the deaths related to people being irresponsible and they’ve sadly paid the ultimate price.” Said Cmdr Vanderlaan.
