A 59-year-old male who was reported missing from Papunya has been found around 11.30am this morning.

The man went missing around 4.00pm yesterday from the local Papunya store while he was walking with his dog.

Senior Sergeant Michael Potts said it is a great result and that Police and his family had been hopeful that they would find him.

"Police were concerned for the man’s welfare due to the current cold conditions experienced in the area and the man’s known medical condition" Senior Sergeant Potts said.

"Police performed an extensive air and land search to locate the man.

"Family members located the man around 2.8 kilometres north-east of Papunya."
