Missing Man - Alpurrurulam (Lake Nash)

Police

Police are conducting air and ground searches for 38-year-old Lawrence Campbell, who hasn’t been seen since departing Alpurrurulam for Urandangi (QLD) on Saturday.

Superintendent Craig Barrett said local Police were alerted by Night Patrol members at around 9:00 pm yesterday after family members became concerned that Mr Campbell had not returned.

“Family members told Police that Mr Campbell left the community at around midday on Saturday to attend a cricket match in Urandangi, approximately 120 kilometres from Alpurrurulam,” said Superintendent Barrett.

“We have since discovered that Mr Campbell never arrived at the cricket match. He was driving a white Holden commodore utility and has not been seen or heard from since his departure on Saturday.

“We are advised that Mr Campbell is a fit and healthy man, however with the hot weather conditions, we are concerned for his welfare.”

A plane is being utilised to search the area, while land searches are also being conducted by local Police with the assistance of employees at nearby cattle stations, members of the community and Queensland Police members from Camooweal.
