Man to Face Drugs Charges - Alice Springs

A 47-year-old man has been charged with possession and supply of a prohibited substance after a search of his car and residence allegedly found a quantity of drugs and cash.

Detective Sergeant David Richardson said the Alice Springs the man was arrested yesterday after an investigation found he had 141 grams of cannabis and more than $1500 in cash.

“A search of the vehicle he was driving allegedly located 130 grams of cannabis material broken up into seven separate deal bags,” Detective Sergeant Richardson said.

“Police also allege $1595 cash was located on the man’s person and within the vehicle.

“A further 11 grams of cannabis material and 4.5 tablets of prescription drugs were located within the residence and shed on the property.

“He was charged with:

“Possess Cannabis - Trafficable Quantity;

Supply Cannabis - Trafficable Quantity;

Possess Poison.

“He will face the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 24 July.

“Investigations are continuing and further charges are possible.”
