A 46-year-old male is in Police custody assisting with enquiries in relation to a death that occurred in Alice Springs today.

Detective Acting Superintendent Travis Wurst said the man was taken into custody this afternoon.

“We’re continuing to investigate the death of a woman that was located inside a house on Lovegrove Drive at around midday today,” Detective Acting Superintendent Wurst said.

“The woman suffered injuries that may have lead to her death, however further investigations and an autopsy will need to be carried out to determine the exact cause.

“Anyone that may have witnessed the event, or who may have seen any suspicious behaviour this morning in or around Lovegrove Drive are urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
