A 41 year-old man is in Police custody following the death of a 48 year-old man in Karama.

Detectives from the Major Crime Squad were alerted to the death by attending Police Officers following an altercation at an address in Sedge Court at about 3.30pm yesterday

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Bradley Currie said the incident was reported to Police after an ambulance was called to the residence.  The 48 year-old victim was conveyed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

“Witnesses say they helped the victim to a bed before concern was raised by family members and an ambulance was called to the location.”

The 41 year-old offender was arrested later the same day in Fannie Bay.

Investigations are continuing and charges are expected to be laid later today.
