Major Crash Detectives have charged a 67-year-old man in relation to the fatal crash which occurred in Marrara last week.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant John Worrall said the crash occurred at around 1:45 pm on Tuesday 8 May at the intersection of the Stuart Highway and Amy Johnson Avenue.

“Investigations have led to the formal identification of 29-year-old Ben Wilton of Bakewell, who tragically died in the six car crash last week,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Worrall said.

“The alleged offender has been charged with drive in a manner dangerous causing death and was granted bail to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on 12 June 2012.

“Investigations into the exact cause of the crash are continuing and I urge everyone to take extreme care on our roads at all times.“
