Police

Major Crime Detectives have now released images of people they believe could help with information in relation to the death of 61-year-old Don Burarrwanga.

An image of deceased man Don Burarrwanga, who also used the name ‘Don Murray’, is also attached.

Detective Sergeant Tony Henrys said the family of the deceased gave Police permission to release his name and image in the hope it encourages people with information to come forward and try and determine the circumstances leading up to his death.

“Mr Burarrwanga was found dead outside the Uniting Church building on the Stuart Highway at around 11:00 pm on 31 January,” Detective Sergeant Henrys said.

“He was outside the Parap shop at 5:00 pm with numerous other people hours before his death. We would really like to speak to these people and anyone who may recognise them.

“Anyone else that may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area is also encouraged to contact Police on 131 444.

“Any information, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, is appreciated.”

Media note: Images attached are taken from CCTV captured near the Parap shop. Police wish to speak to the people in these images.
